Found that FAQ today at TracFone:
TDMA & Analog networks, in the United States, are currently being upgraded to another technology. TDMA & Analog phones will not be compatible with the new network changes and therefore must be upgraded.
Seems like with our three TracFones his MAY be an issue. Who's got the 4-1-1?

Haven't heard anything about this, but if you DO need to upgrade your phones, maybe do what I did, switch to another service. When my tracfone year of service was up a few years ago, I did some research, and discovered I'd get better pricing from Virgin Mobile. Not sure what you're paying for TracFone now, but at VM, it's $5 per month, auto charged to my card $15 every 3 months.
Might be worth checking out, if they're going to make you upgrade your TracFones to something different.

We just buy cards that have carryover minutes. So it depends on your use. The normal purchase is 120 minutes for $30 which extends our service 90 days. If your time runs out your phone is disconnected. Then you have to buy a new phone.
Now if we are CDMA then I think we are okay...

you are fine. the FCC is requiring all phone companies to abandon use of the analog towers.
