It is a very different Third Day without Brad Avery, the weopon of Mass Distortion has been deactivated and it shows from what I hear on the player!!
They still sound very good, but for me just not anywhere near as good without Brad avery, it remains to be seen what effect this has on the fanbase of third day, I loved the rock n roll sound of Brad, and for me Mark is excellent on pickin and acoustic, some of the best music I have heard but for full on rock up and down the frets Brad was the Man.

That is exactly what I have been saying. It will not be anywhere near as good without Brad. He was not some disposable part.

Wow. Huge difference between the HOB shows with and without Brad. The post Brad is actually LOL. Pooh. I wish I couldn't tell the difference. Still good - just not as "big". One of you musician types might could explain better.
I presume Third Day was doing their best and were in a pinch but the piano bit just doesn't cut it. Sounds silly but maybe it is the recording?
Note to Third Day: If you can't bring Brad back - fine. And if you aren't replacing him - fine. But please consider hiring a guitarist temp! Not sure where you find those but you KNOW people! :) This is meant with much love.

Do you know I am sitting here listening to the Myrtle Beach show and I am SOOOOOOO excited!! They sound GREAT!!! It's different guys, but I wouldn't by any means say it's poo.
You can hear Tai coming through loud and clear - you could never hear him like THIS!! I am so impressed! Keep it coming boys - we want to hear more, more, MORE!!!
I know for a fact my hubby Mark will be on here shortly singing Mark Lee's praises, so I will leave that part to him ;).

Pooh here means disappointing...- like Pooh Bear used to say. At least I didn't think he meant that other poo. Might need an investigation.
I meant "too bad I noticed the missing guitar." They are still good. I do hope they get another guitar to complete the sound. I bet they will. If I can tell the difference, Mac & clan can tell and will get another guitar player who isn't official or band member or whatever for concerts.
Anyway - it won't affect the CD or any of the past CDs.

Man I'm so glad we got wired.........really enjoyed the latest concert (without Brad).....I was different of course but not in anyway inferior...........the band had great spirit!
Mark 'the new/old guy' ;) was great, I loved the improvised songs, nice job, and we could really hear Tai's bass, and Scotty could be heard more - filling in nicely.
Mark!, I repeat, loved your playing, look forward to hearing more - and if you are listening you are RIGHT to NOT replace Brad, YOU DON'T NEED ANOTHER GUITARIST...........

Yes it's different...each show was different in some way or another. Still loved it. I listened to Myrtle Beach today (I was there...can't you hear me screaming???!!!!;) )
I really want a copy of that show...can't you guys put in on a cd, podcast, or something...I will pay for it....:P
Looking forward to the next show.

I do not like so much keyboards either, I liked third Day in the beginning with the bus cd because they were such a guitar band, and I know they are now older and not as rocky now, but even when Brad was still there there was still too much keyboards especially on Rockstar, which should be full on rock guitars only.
Just my opinion and I know there is the offerings fanbase who just want nice light worship songs all night like church, but I like Third Day because they are (were:confused: ) a Rock band with great Christian lyrics.

some of the songs have sounded a bit different, but i think with more practice the songs will be much better, remember they had no time to practice

Traci and I should be able to download the version of Happy Birthday where Mac sings "Sarah....and Traci" so that we can listen to it every year and remember when he sang it to us;)
Oh gosh. I was listening to the MB concert, around the time of 22:49 I was just doing some random stuff on my computer and listening to the concert with my headphones in, and Mac says something hilarious. I literally busted out laughing. Please listen to it

Let me add, that this version of "I've Always Loved You" is probably one of the best I've heard in a really, really, really long time. I absolutely loved the way it sounded. And it is definitely my top 5 Third Day songs. I wish I had just that song to download--I could listen to that version for a really, really long time.
MMMMMMMM....nice bass.....

Haven't seen any comments about the two new shows playing back too slowly, sounds like they might have fixed the problem with these two?
I'll have to play them back tomorrow night, when I'm not getting ready to head to bed and only have about 15 minutes to play with them...

Yeah, but I also noticed it on Tunnel and Creed. Not saying bad, just different. The shows still absolutely rock.

I've seen Third Day live about 25 times now. I was there last night in Decatur and they sounded as awesome as ever. The vibe was just amazing. Mark was tearing up the guitar -- it was awesome to see him stepping it up -- and Tai's on the front row now!
Mac & Tai were watching the opening acts from the back of the first floor (I know because I was there too -- couldn't find the place!). And they just looked so happy! My mom commented after the show (shes coming up on 10 live shows now herself) that they seemed to be enjoying it so much. She said they were smiling and I countered that they're always smiling -- and she said, not like last night.
I just cannot express in words how awesome last night was. It was one of the best shows I've ever seen by them. They really did just seem so light and into it. Maybe it's because it's the beginning of the tour -- but I didn't think their sound suffered at all without Brad. I was pretty upset when I heard the news of his leaving, but after last night -- I feel much better :)

Thanks to all who report for all of us who can't have "wired" or see them in concert. different doesn't mean bad, and while they may lose some fans they may also gain new ones.

I haven't heard them post-Brad era, but I'm one of those musicians who believes two electric guitars are essential to any band. Two guitars "fill out" the whole sound of the band and give the songs more dimension and uniqueness. Without hearing them yet, I am in favor of replacing Brad. However, I understand if they don't replace him due to the fact that all of them have been together for so long and another personnel change would be strange.

I've tried to listen to 2 different HOB shows on Wired and IMHO the sound is terrible. It's the acoustics or something. Mac sounds like he's got a peanut butter sandwich stuck in his throat or something. It doesn't even sound like him. I can't wait to hear a show from some other venue than HOB.
This has nothing to do with Brad, the show I listened to before he left sounded bad too.

i do believe that that has to do with the recording...cause the new one from Charlottesville sounds really good...

Finally got to hear some of both shows today. Myrtle Beach seemed to play back a little slowly, but not bad. The Orlando recording really dragged though, kinda like it was recorded at 45rpm, and played back at 33 (if anyone still remembers the old turntable speeds).
But yeah, Charlottesville sounded fine. So it's just the HOB shows that don't want to play back quite right.

Mark and I are playing the Myrtle Beach and Orlando shows to death!!
They are so clear (sorry Karen) - the new songs are fantastic too.
We are loving being able to hear Mark, Tai and Scotty much more clearly. Our boys are ROCKIN'!!!
I know I've said all this before btw ;)!

They're clear, they're just slow, like they're being played back in slo-mo. Not a big deal though, I'm sure I can tinker a bit with some settings and get them to play back okay.

Listened to the Columbus, GA show and it was awesome! The HOB's just weren't good venues to record. It's an acoustic thing.

I heard part of Charleston a day or so ago, it sounded fine too. Pretty much everything that's not HOB is all good on Wired Radio.
