I bought a Kodak 8 inch digital picture frame for my in laws for Christmas. It has built in 128MB storage. Instructions in the book are very basic and don't offer much help. I want to plug it in to my computer and send pics from the computer to the frame. It mostly talks (instructions) about putting in a memory card to import pics. It has a USB port on the frame and when I hook to my computer, it doesn't automatically do anything. I just want to send pics from the computer to the frame. It should be easier than I'm finding it to be. I just wondered if someone out there had one and could give me some simple instructions.

Now that we are friends, can I tag my question on with yours?
Mine has a memory card slot, and I was hoping to do a compilation of pics through the years and put it on a memory stick. How do you put pics back on the memory stick?

I've never owned one of these things, so may not be of much help, but once you've hooked up the frame to the USB port, does your computer not see the storage space on the frame as an additional external drive?
Christy, how do you get the pics from the card onto your PC? If you use any sort of card reader, the data flows both ways, and again, just like with the frame, you should be able to just treat the card reader as an external drive and just copy the photos from your hard drive back to the card.

My camera came with software that has the option to put pics back on the memory stick.......but, like you, I had scanned some old pics and when I tried to load them onto the memory stick, I got an error message that said these pics (the ones I scanned) were not taken with this camera and therefore cannot be loaded on to the memory stick.

Karen, I didn't really think about that. I need to hook it back up and then look in "my computer" to see if its recognized and then maybe I can just drag my pics into that window, just like a flash drive. That would be very simple if it will work.
I've never used one of those digital picture frames, but it would be important to make sure that the frame was powered on when it's connected to teh computer or it won't likely be recognized as a USB device.

Thanks, Karen you were right. It was so easy, I just wasn't thinking to begin with. Using the frame is no different than putting pics on something like a USB flash drive.
Thanks for the help!:D

Just a lucky guess. That's how how I get stuff onto the CF card that's in my PDA half the time, hook it up, turn it on, and it just sees it as another external drive. I took a guess that maybe those picture frames would work the same way. Good to know it worked. :)

I got mine up and going, let's just pray the mail doesn't erase everything? WHOOPS! I forgot about that possibility!
