Not sure how many watched the You Tube Republican debate last night. I thought it was an excellent debate. Here's how I ranked the candidates, and some random thoughts....

1. Ron Paul - He answered questions consisely, and wasn't afraid to challenge the mainstream.. I see RP as a true leader. Grade: A.

2. Rudy Giuliani - Informed and prepared to debate. I was glad to see some spirited debate between RG and Mitt. Grade: B.

3. Mike Huckabee - Mike comes across as a good 'ol boy, with southern values. He responded to questions well and even tackled his past spending record. I also thought he answered the Bible question well. Grade: B-.

4. John McCain - Although I feel he's fighting an uphill battle and will never win, he held his own during the debate. I particularly liked when he challenged Mitt on the issue of waterboarding as torture. However, it surprised me when he emphatically stated that we won the VietNam War. Grade: C.

5. Mitt Romney - Mitt was attacked most often last night. He defended himself fairly well but fell short on many answers. His answer regarding methods of interrogation was an embarassment. Grade C-.

6. Tom Tancredo - Not much to say, other than his answers were boring.. I feel he will be the first to drop out of the race. Grade: D-.

7. Fred Thompson - His 30 second video turned into an attack ad, instead of him talking about his positions. I lost every shred of respect for Fred last night. Also, in my opinion, his responses didn't come across as well thought out. He also comes across as lazy or laid back; too much so to run for President. Grade: F.

8. Duncan Hunter - Much like Tancredo, his responses weren't memorable. He talked about immigration a lot, but his solution doesn't seem feasable. He will drop out of the race after New Hampshire. Grade: F.

I didn't get to watch it last night, but I did do some research it was pretty crappy how little time they gave the lower candidates and Ron Paul. Not to mention that one NAU question.

After the debate, someone mentioned how CNN was trying to demean him. Ron answered ".. but I recognize their private property, they have a right to be biased." That, itself, is what makes Ron Paul. He puts the constitution and the rights of others before himself, even if it's against him.

The best part of last night however, was the rally! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8oJAm-06oQ) (sound quality is bad, I can post a better one once available). The crowd was fired up! and Ron Paul gave one of the best speeches he's done yet. This is what that video submitter had to say:

I raced home and posted this as fast as I could. Sorry for the quality folks. Me dinky camera is the only thing I can afford these days, what with our dollar not worth the paper it's printed on. :)

My 78 year old Mom, who hasn't voted in over 40 years (apathy) demanded I take her.

She said she had the time of her life and when I took her home at 1 in the morning, she happily said "I'll need two hours to settle down"

I thought it was outright crappy when they played the question for Ron Paul in which the guy said (paraphrased) "I think we both know that the republican party is never going to give you the nomination.." and then proceeded to ask him if he would run as an independent. It just goes to show CNN's horrible bias throughout the debate. Plus RP has answered that question a hundred times already.

I agree. It was a cheap shot.

Now on CNN they have some reaction videos from some of the questioners at the YouTube debate. http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/11/29/ireport.debate/index.html

Guess which was 1 of the 3 available? Yes, the goob that asked Ron Paul if he was going to run as an independent. He starts whining about how he can't vote for RP in the primaries since he's not a registered Republican. Of course he's not! An independent's chance of being elected president is next to none. This guy just doesn't understand anything about US elections. If he gets through as a Republican candidate, he's going to get a ton more support and attention than if he ran as an independent.

Yeah, RP answeree questions about the CFR, tri lateral and the NAU- North American Union. He CONFIRMED that they are working towards it...

RP doesn'ty have a chance. The REP party along with the DEMs are so corrupt...they'll never even give him a chance.

Here's the question/Vid...

They ask this question because they want him out of the republican race. Why? Because they may just in fact, see him as a threat. If they see him as a threat, then he may have a chance. It's a tough battle, but one worth fighting. This why I get annoyed at the people who say "<Insert Candidate here> is a good guy, but doesn't have a chance.". So what? maybe he doesn't. But you choose someone based on their values and what you believe, and maybe, just maybe, if others followed suit then their chances become greater.

I'm only saying that because I think the powerful parties and/or power players will make SURE he doesn't get in. I just find it hard to believe that any righteous man will ever get into the White House before Christ returns...

The corrupt won't have it...:( :(

If enough people rally behind RP, the reps will have no choice but to give him a chance. I seriously think that if RP gets enough support and people start seeing through all the corruptness in Washington, there's going to be a big stir if he doesn't get the nomination (if he deserves it).

They'll fight, but I think that enough people can stop them. I refuse to let this country be handed to unconstitutional rulers just because I think Christ will soon return. Just because prophecy dictates that evil will overcome the majority before his return doesn't mean we should sit back and watch it happen. If the founding fathers had that mentality, this country would have never been.

I have to agree with you here E.

But...I hope we are wrong.

It makes me crazy....finally there seems to be a great candidate to lead this country (yes - I'm a RP fan) - but corruption continues to rule politics here in the good old USA.

With the exception of Paul, Huckabee, and McCain, all of them looked like little kids fighting with each other like that, especially Giuliani and Romney. I like when someone brought up Giuliani cheating on his wife so that maybe people will understand that Giuliani has some serious character flaws that need to be looked at before they choose to put a checkmark by his name on the ballot.

I agree about Thompson. His attacks were childish. Romney got caught in another lie and another flip-flop when he talked about gays in the military, so he's done.

Yeah, Giglianni broke up with his wife IN THE PRESS....and she didn't even know it was coming. Credible evidence shows he was running with this woman now for quite a while, before ditching his wife in the press. What a slug..

But, i like how RP admitted the issue with Globalism, the CFR, Tri-lateral and the impending North American Union...

Guess its not a crazy CT after all....

gee, imagine that....

CNN Defends Its Use of Democratic Supporters in Republican YouTube Debate

Can Republican supporters ask questions at the next Democratic debate? Oh, that's right, the Dems earlier refused to debate on FoxNews.
