Making you DVD player region free

I am thinking of getting a DVD box set from the States. The only problem is that it is region 1 and Australia is Region 4. Is it legal for me to find a region free code from the internet and use it on my player to unlock it? It would void the warranty though.

I don't know whether it's legal - if it negates your warrenty then perhaps you'd be wise NOT do it. We have made ours region free (using an internet code), but then our DVD player was past the warrenty stage. It's up to you.
